  • Education: I attended University Laboratory High School in Urbana, Illinois and currently am studying at Pomona College in Claremont, CA (B.S. in Psychology expected in 2013).
  • Work History: I've worked in a variety of different environments, encompassing corporate organizations, higher education institutions and small non-profits. I've been the Executive Intern at a Fortune 50 insurer, interned at the Pomona College Office of Admission for two years, and I worked full time for one year helping to run West Tallahatchie Habitat for Humanity in Tutwiler, Mississippi. In addition, I worked for three summers during high school for the University of Illinois providing computer support to faculty, staff and graduate students and have run an independent computer consultancy since I was 9 years old.
  • Leadership Experience: I've served on a college's residence hall staff as live-in mentor and I've planned, supplied and led numerous backcountry and frontcountry excursions through outdoors clubs. I've served on the Illinois State Board of Education's Student Advisory Council and I've been invited to be a counselor at a leadership camp. During high school, I served as both class and student body presidents on student council.
  • Accomplishments and Recognition: Although awards are never a motivating factor, I have received numerous awards recognizing my leadership, service, and a number of named higher education scholarships.
  • Volunteer Service: I volunteer regularly with organizations that work with prisoners, most lately working weekly in an organic garden inside the California Institution for Women in Chino, CA through Cultivating Dreams. I continue to work with Urbana-Champaign Books To Prisoners. Additionally, I've served on numerous committees, some via invitation.
